Our Holidays
We had a wonderful Christmas! As you can see the kids got alot of great stuff. These are the before and after photos. Emily woke us all up at 5:30am to open presents. Pete says he heard her up at 4:00am and at least she waited awhile to get us up.The first time in nine years she woke up before dawn. I was very tired but excited to watch the kids open gifts. By about 6:30 we finished opening everything. We spent Christmas day indoors all day it was raining and yucky out. We had a small family meal and went to bed early .Getting up at 5:30 makes little kids cranky. On Christmas Eve we were invited for fondu at my friend Heathers house. That was fun and intresting. There was cheese and vegies ,beef and shrimp and chocolate and fruit. It was the first time we had ever had fondu. I enjoyed it, although one could starve if you had to eat it for a meal. It takes a while to cook meats.
We are planning to spend New Years Eve at home. I don't think I can make it to midnight. I'm usually asleep by 9:00pm. We'll have to see. I'm going to take a nap maybe that will help. The kids aren't intrested in staying up. And we don't get any of the New Years Eve specials on TV because of the time difference. So it's almost like any other day. I haven't made any New Years resolutions. And don't plan to. I never stick to them. I just want us all to be in great health and happy. I hope all of you have a prosperous New Year!

Day by Day
I just want to start off by saying having gestational diabetes sucks! I hate the diet they have me on. It seams as soon as someone tells you, you can't have something, you want it. I'm having a hard time eating what I'm supposed to. Checking my blood doesent hurt and I don't have any physical symptoms,I'm not gaining and Mason is not gaining weight excessively. So I'm frustrated with the diet. And I'm hungry more often. There is only so much meat and cheese I can stand. It's like being on the Atkins diet, low or no carbs. (blah) But I do it just to be sure we are both healthy. And I'm staying off the meds, which is always a good thing. I don't know though next Dr. appointment I might ask for the meds so I can EAT. The faster time flies the better.Or if Mason decides to arrive early that would be ok with me.As long as its after 37 weeks. Which is considerd full term.
To make things harder Christmas is almost here. Pete has already made out a list of all the cookies and candies he plans on bakeing. And Emily's Girl Scout troop is gearing up for cookie season. (ugg) With all the sweets around I'm going to go insane!

Jacob's B-DAY
Jacob is 7 years old!!! Time has flown by. He's a little man now. We had a small celebration with Grant and Lorna. We went to dinner at Chili's so that the Chili's gang could sing Happy Birthday to him and get a free icecream. We took him to the PX so he could spend his birthday money. It was like Christmas morning in our livingroom, toy packaging all over the place. He was really happy to have Uncle Grant and Aunt Lorna over for his birthay. I'm glad my boy had a great bithday.

Jake's award and Emily's B-day
Jacob recieved a positive action award from school. That means he is an outstanding student in his class. They had a ceremony for all the students recieving an award. We are so proud of him! He is the one right in the center.Sorry it's a little blurry. It's the best one of the bunch. Pete says it's our camera but I think it's operator error. He took the pictures.
Emily is 9 years old can you believe it? We had a small celebration at home with just us.We let her pretty much have her way all day. She picked where we ate dinner. She wanted curry so we went to Cocoichibana's. (The curry house) Then she wanted to spend her birthday money and go to Dragon Palace, a big arccade with a candy store. So that's what we did. It think she had a really good time.
As for me I'm hanging in there. I don't like my new diet but ya gotta do, what ya gotta do. My blood sugar levels are staying with in range, which is good. And pricking my finger doesn't hurt it's just a hassle. But this weekend my levels may go up I have Emily's cake and my baby shower cake to eat. So this weekend I'm giving myself the ok to indulge a little.
