Mason's First Birthday

One year ago Mason made his debut. It doesn't seem that it has been a year. He was 7lbs at birth and now he is over 20. I used to just watch him lay in the floor and look around he was so peaceful. Now I have to watch him every second or he is into trouble. We celebrated his birthday on Saturday, because Pete had to work on Sunday. Ah,the life of the military. We had cake and opened presents.Nothing spectacular. I took Mason to Toys R Us on Sunday, they gave him a balloon,a crown and announced over the intercom it was his birthday. It was nice.

Mason shares his birthday with some pretty impressive people. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the composer, Lewis Carroll, the author,Mikhail Baryshnikov, the dancer. And I have to add Nick Mason, the drummer from Pink Floyd, since Mason loves to play with his drum stick. And Pete was a percussionist in the band.

Feeling better

I'm feeling better now. A little sunshine always does the trick. No wonder I loved Okinawa so much. Sun all the time.
Mason will be turning one this Sunday. It doesn't seem that a year has already passed. I will have a bunch of pictures to share of his birthday. Here are a few pictures of Mason's big present. We gave it to him a little early. It's in the house because it's so cold and Mason's face turns bright red in the cold. It's more enjoyable to watch him play on it in the warm house.

My Aging Memory

I was reminded last night, as I am every other night, of how horribly my memory is. I disagree! I can still remember the birthdays of everyone that lives in my house and I am not the one that forgot our wedding anniversary this year. So I forget the little things. I forgot to take the trash around to the front on trash day. I forgot to change the babies diaper before putting him to bed once or twice or .... So I forget a few names of those I meet. That would include all of my wife's family, and anyone I haven't talked to or about in the last 6 months. I have also been told that I don't remember conversations. I remember having them!

So my memory may be a little sketchy at times, no big deal. Besides, my wife remembers everything, trust me.

A right of passage

For the military child turning 10 only means one thing....getting an ID card! Emily couldn't wait until she was ten so she can have her very own ID card. We took her today to get one. I was going to post a picture of Emily holding her valuable card, but you know OPSEC. I had to get mine renewed also. And this summer when Pete gets promoted,we'll need to get new ones.
